Blending (BLENDING WITH A BRUSH)

Pastel can be rich and vibrant or soft.

You can use a bristle brush to break up the pastel particles and spread the colour to your canvas. You can blend the strokes thoroughly to create a solid area of smooth colour, or you can leave visible strokes if you want more texture. There are 4 different kinds of pastel including soft pastel, hard pastel, oil pastel, and pastel pencil.
